Let me start this introduction by saying the creation of this blog arose from an assignment in my current gender studies class. Our assignment is to study and analyze negative body image, and how it effects women and girls. I've chosen to research pornography and how it effects body image, and focus particularly on its relationship to new trends in vaginal cosmetic surgery.
My intention for this blog is to give women and girls more information on vaginal cosmetic surgery, and on the forces that influence body image and the way women are perceived in American culture. It is my intention to create a blog that empowers women, and shows there is an enormous range of what is considered normal and beautiful, and that our standards of beauty don't have to be restricted to what is seen in the porn industry.
